The Corrugated galvanized Iron (CGI) Sheets are made of hot-dipped galvanized sheets and other metal sheets, which are rolled and cold-formed into various corrugated profiles. They are commonly used for general roofing purposes due to their durability and resistance to weather-related damage.
The thickness of CGI sheets is an important factor for strength and durability. The thickness of CGI sheets ranges from 0.2 to 4.0 mm, with the regular thickness being 0.2 to 1.5 mm. The minimum recommended thickness is 0.551 mm (26 gauge) for permanent shelters and shelters subject to snow loads.

CGI sheets are also used for roofing purposes. Corrugated galvanized iron (CGI) sheets are laid like tiles, with a lateral overlap of one and a half corrugations and a vertical overlap of about 150 millimeters to provide waterproofing.
